1795 Liberty Cap Half Cent. C-6a. Rarity-2. Plain Edge, No Pole. Thin Planchet. Overstruck on a Talbot, Allum & Lee Cent. Fine-12 (PCGS). CAC.
This inviting piece exhibits dominant medium golden-brown patina with outlines of reddish-copper color to many of the design elements, especially those on the reverse. Wear is a bit uneven with slightly more loss of detail toward the lower obverse and upper reverse borders than elsewhere. All major design elements are appreciable, however, and most are bold for the grade. Smooth in hand with no blemishes of note and a very pleasing appearance. Remnants of the undertype are faint, but discernible with patience at the lower, lower right and, especially, upper right obverse borders, as well as on the reverse at the letter E in STATES.
