1928-S Buffalo Nickel. MS-65+ (PCGS).
A boldly impressed, highly lustrous example with a smooth satin texture to both sides. Beautifully toned, as well, we note pinkish-gold peripheral iridescence around lilac-blue and pale mauve centers. Despite a slightly higher mintage (6,936,000 vs. 6,436,000 pieces), the 1928-S is scarcer than the 1928-D in Mint State, especially with the superior surface preservation offered here. Sure to catch the eye of astute Buffalo nickel collectors.
