Lot of (3). Absecon, New Jersey. S.L. Fithian. 1863 5, 10, & 25 Cents. PMG About Uncirculated 53 & Choice Uncirculated 64. Remainders.
Remainder, and unsigned set of three notes issued by Samuel L. Fithian, a merchant from Absecon, New Jersey in January, 1863. Denominated in 5, 10 and 25 cents, the first two notes are printed in black, while the 25 cent note appears in red ink. All notes display the American flag at center, with a vignette of Ceres kneeling beside an Native American woman at left. The two smallest denominations are graded 64 and appear as new. The 25 cent note displays some folds and creases from light handling and is graded AU 53 but obviously never "circulated" as such. PMG comments "Selvage Included" on the 5 and 10 Cent notes.
