Description

Fr. 224. 1896 $1 Silver Certificate. PMG Gem Uncirculated 66 EPQ.
Few, if any U.S. notes can compare in artistic design and beauty with the Educational Series of 1896. Issued in three denominations, each is noteworthy for its allegorical representations engraved in breathtaking realism as only the late 19 th century engravers could accomplish. While the services have graded a good number of Educationals, even at the Gem level, it's never really enough to satisfy the incredible demand from collectors these notes enjoy. The present note possesses all the attributes that its Gem 66 EPQ grade suggests, with excellent centering, nearly flawless original paper, and vibrant color on the overprints. Truly a note any collector would be proud to own and show.

Estimate: $5000.00- $7000.00
