Description

Fr. 2308. 1934 $10 North Africa Emergency Mule Note. PMG Gem Uncirculated 65 EPQ.
Offered here is an elite level small size rarity, and a key catalog number in any small size set. Track & Price records 210 examples known for Fr. 2308, 56 of which have been encapsulated by PMG. Three notes are found in this Gem 65 EPQ grade, whilst three have been graded finer at Gem 66 EPQ. The high grade examples that we know of are all clustered within a tight serial number range that encompasses this note. The entering is ideal, and vividly printed inks are displayed on this well framed note. Boldly printed overprints and nice embossing are found. PMG Pop 3/3 Finer. Also included with this lot is an invoice for the note, which is dated January 24th, 1961. The note was purchased from New Netherlands Coin Co., Inc which was located off of 47th Street in New York. The note was described as being in Uncirculated condition, and sold for $200 ($206 with tax). Given the rate of inflation, $206 in 1961 is equal to roughly $2,016 in 2023!

Estimate: $20000.00- $30000.00
