Boston, Massachusetts. $2 Original. Fr. 387a. The Shoe & Leather NB. Charter #646. PMG Very Good 10.
From the Shoe and Leather National Bank in Boston comes the only known Original Series "Lazy Deuce." While it will not win any beauty contests, it is unique and fully intact. PMG notes an "Internal Tear" but only a few pinholes and a 3mm tear are visible when held to the light. A number of Original Series notes are found in lower grades and these notes must certainly be appreciated far more for their rarity than their condition. From the St. Cloud Collection, sold in Sept 2014 for $1,527. PMG comments "Internal Tear".
