Pattern 2013 Lealana 1 Litecoin. Loaded. Firstbits LcB3ijtb. Serial No. 155. Normal Finish. Red Address, Serialized. Nickel Brass. MS-66 (PCGS).
Loaded with 1 LTC. A formidable bookend to the 5-coin Lealana Litecoin Pattern set being offered in this sale. An example of the regular variety sold for $1,200 in our November 2022 auction, and we certainly expect considerably greater interest for this unique piece. The overall format of this piece is similar to the regular variety of this issue, struck in a Nickel Brass alloy with the Litecoin symbol at the central reverse and a holographic security sticker on the reverse. This hologram offers the first clue as to the Pattern nature of this coin, as it is a gold hologram instead of the silver hologram used for the production variety. The vibrant red Firstbits address on the reverse is similarly unseen on any official public releases. Closer inspection will also reveal that the full public address and serial number have been laser engraved around the edge of the reverse, which is a technique that did not see wider usage in the Lealana series until recent years. Five-Coin Pattern 2013 Lealana Litecoin Set #155 These special Pattern, or prototype, 2013 Lealana Litecoins rank among the very most desirable physical crypto coins in existence. These have been sourced directly from the Lealana Archives, a private treasure trove of experimental and unique creations by Lealana that were never announced or released publicly. All five coins are marked with serial number 155 and are being sold individually in consecutive lots. Each coin showcases myriad special finishes, security enhancements, and other unique features that exemplify the innovative techniques and approach that are signature to the Lealana series. Many features on this 2013 Pattern set have later gone on to be utilized on official releases. These coins were funded directly by Lealana creator Noah Luis, who is also known throughout the crypto community as "Smoothie." The silver denominations in the set have been expertly gold plated to deliver a dazzling finish that immediately sets them apart from the standard issue. Every coin in this set features a special red Firstbits address, which is a color never used on the official releases of these issues. They also feature special gold-colored holograms, which replace the standard silver-colored holograms used for most issues. As an added security feature, the full public addresses and serial number have been laser engraved around the reverse edge on each coin. This is an experimental, yet effective, technique that was not utilized on official Lealana releases until 2020. Every coin in this set is accompanied by a matching Certificate of Authenticity issued by Lealana which outlines the characteristics and public address for each particular coin. These COAs have been individually hand-signed by Noah Luis, creator of the Lealana series, and feature an authentication hologram that was not included on the standard certificates. These COAs have been individually encapsulated by PCGS to allow perfect preservation for future generations. This Litecoin set is joined by a matching serial #155 set of Bitcoin coinage offered under that currency category in this sale. Each of these sets represent a crowning jewel in their respective currencies, though the acquisition of the complete 11-coin Bitcoin and Litecoin set #155 would be the mark of a truly world-class collection. Only the most advanced collectors will take aim at this formidable achievement.
