Description

Kirtland, Ohio. Kirtland Safety Society Bank. 1837. $20. PMG Choice Very Fine 35 Net. Edge Damage.
Plate A. Serial No. 268. The last of three Kirtland Safety Society Bank notes, and the best of the three, bearing the least scarring from the fire that all three have suffered. Printed for the Church of Latter Day Saints by Underwood, Bald, Spencer & Hufty, N. York & Phil. in 1837, these notes are an important part of Mormon history, and bear the signature of Joseph Smith, Jr., the founder of the movement. With fire damage affecting only a small portion of the left edge, this VF 35 net example is an affordable entry note for those seeking to own an example. PMG notes "Edge Damage" on the back of the holder.

Estimate: $800.00- $1200.00
