138 mm x 59mm, greatest dimensions. 2.24 troy ounces, XRF tested at 0.530-0.550 fine, 1.187 troy ounces AGW. Three-part hanging part, the uppermost an ornate gold pinback that includes the date 1902 as part of its design. Suspended below this is the second piece of the badge with a similarly ornate scene of agriculture and shipping with a scroll above inscribed AD ASTRA PER ASPERA. The main part of the badge is at the bottom, gold with blue enamels on the front, which side has masonic symbols at center surrounded by a band inscribed MOST WONDERFUL GRAND LODGE OF KANSAS / A.F. & A.M., ornate gold flourishes at top and bottom. The back of the main part of the badge is inscribed TO M.W. BRO. THOMAS E. DEWEY / FROM SOME OF HIS PERSONAL FRIENDS IN THE MOST WORSHIPFUL GRAND LODGE OF KANSAS A.F. & A.M. / FEBR. 19TH A.D. 1903. A.L. 5903. With only minor signs of handling, no significant blemishes, strong eye appeal. Housed in the original leather pouch-like case with purple plush interior, which has some wear and tattering both internally and externally, but is complete and fully functional.
