Dav-7224; KM-46; Hildian-83; Whiting-63. This exceptional and most demanded of European Talers commemorates the Centennial of the Protestant Reformation in the most beautiful of ways. The incredible character of the engraving is well presented on the broad and lustrous flan of this example, with a crisp and exacting strike. Slate gray toning coats the surfaces, with a soft brilliance about underneath. The wholesome character of the surfaces is unblighted by major wearing, with circulation being limited to only the highest elements of the design. A piece that is certain to excite any specialist in Talers, and one for which there will be no shortage of active bidders.
