1850 Braided Hair Cent. N-7. Rarity-2. MS-65 RD (PCGS). CAC.
With full, satiny mint luster and vivid rose-red color throughout, this expertly preserved large cent appears virtually as made. Boldly to sharply struck throughout and free of even trivial distractions. Indeed, there is little even to trace to provenance of this coin, and it will take close examination with the aid of a loupe to discern tiny carbon flecks on the obverse close in to the bottom of star 9 and on the reverse within the denticles outside the second letter T in STATES. Grellman Die State a, late. "Called MS68 and CC#1 in the Noyes census...Our grade is MS68, CC#1 in the Grellman census," as reported by Bob Grellman for his cataloging of the September 2009 Naftzger Collection, Part III sale.
