"1977" Pattern Liberty Dollar. By Frank Gasparro. Private Copy. Brass. Plain Edge. Overstruck on a Sacagawea Dollar. Mint State.
26.5 mm, 2 mm thick. Obv: Liberty Cap portrait with LIBERTY above, date 1977 below, stars at border arranged six left, seven right, motto IN GOD WE TRUST in lower left field. Rev: Eagle flying over sun with field of stars within rays, legend UNITED STATES OF AMERICA above, denomination ONE DOLLAR below, marked COPY at left. The designer's initials FG appear on both sides.
