KM-260.3. "ENSAIE" countermark on 1811 Zacatecas L.V.O. 8 Reales (KM-190). A pleasing example of this insurgent countermark issue. Though the crudely produced host is rather worn, the countermark is fully and evenly struck, displaying complete details and an unbroken laurel border. Dusty gray toning helps to conceal the noted tooling marks.
