1874 Liberty Seated Half Dollar. Arrows. Proof-65 (PCGS).

This is an exceptionally attractive example of the short-lived Arrows, Motto Liberty Seated half dollar design type of 1873 to 1874. Dusted with delicate iridescent toning in dominant silver and apricot-gray shades, both sides reveal vivid undertones of reddish-orange, salmon-pink, antique gold and powder blue as the surfaces rotate under a light. The strike is razor sharp throughout, the devices frosty in texture and contrasting somewhat with semi-mirrored fields. Carefully preserved to uphold the coveted Gem grade from PCGS, to see this coin is to admire it for both its technical quality and visual appeal.
