1652 Pine Tree Shilling. Small Planchet. Noe-29, Salmon 11-F, W-930. Rarity-3. VF-35 (PCGS).

69.0 grains. A charming pewter-olive example struck on a slightly ovoid planchet, the edge of which encroaches into the peripheral lettering at upper left obverse, upper right reverse. Both legends are fully legible, nonetheless, the central design elements crisp and framed in complete inner borders. Smooth during in-hand inspection, and only marginally less so under magnification, this is a ideal mid-grade Small Planchet Pine Tree for type purposes.
