Silky smooth in texture with intense mint luster, this bright and brilliant Superb Gem makes a lovely impression in all regards. The final New Orleans Mint silver dollar, the 1904-O was produced to the extent of 3,720,000 pieces, the vast majority of which went into storage at the time of delivery. More than a million examples were released from the Philadelphia Mint and the Treasury Building in Washington, D.C. beginning in October of 1962, these releases making the 1904-O the most plentiful New Orleans Mint Morgan dollar in Mint State after only the 1885-O. Among the finest certified, however, the coin offered here is rare from a condition standpoint and worthy of inclusion in an advanced silver dollar cabinet.
