1848 Liberty Head Eagle. AU-53+ (PCGS).
Delightful honey-orange and deep apricot surfaces support a bold strike and soft, pleasingly smooth frosty luster. The 1848 is an underrated issue relative to its generous (for the era) mintage of 145,484 coins. This is particularly true in attractive, original AU and finer grades, as here.
