1882 Liberty Head Eagle. MS-63+ (PCGS). CAC.
Delightful satin surfaces are also possessed of full striking detail and vivid rose-gold color. Produced in generous numbers (2,324,440 circulation strikes), the 1882 is one of the most plentiful Liberty Head eagles in terms of total number of coins extant. A fair percentage of the mintage found its way overseas in international transactions, repatriations in recent decades providing a sizeable population of Uncirculated coins for today's gold type and date collectors. Premium Choice examples such as this remain scarce, however, and the issue is exceedingly rare any finer.
