1799/8 Draped Bust Silver Dollar. BB-142, B-1. Rarity-4. 13-Star Reverse. VF-35 (NGC). CAC.
Plenty of bold definition remains from a nicely centered strike to make this mid-grade early overdate dollar attractive for type and variety purposes. This example exhibits mostly deep argent-gray toning with deeper charcoal accents at selected border areas. The median rarity among the three overdate varieties of the 1799 silver dollar, BB-142 has an extant population of fewer than 750 coins in all grades.
