SCOTLAND. Demy-Lion, ND (1390-1403). Edinburgh Mint. Robert III. PCGS AU-55.
S-5157; Fr-7; Burns-6 (fig. 370). Heavy coinage, type without tressure on obverse. Weight: 1.90 gms. Obverse: Coat-of-arms; Reverse: Saltire cross; lis to left and right; trefoil above and below. A fairly RARE and seldom encountered type, this example presents a clean and crisp strike, with some deeper toning in spots further elevating the devices. A hint of flan waviness is observed, but otherwise rather consistent with the coinage of the period.
