New York, New York. 1902 Red Seal $5 Fr. 587. The Chemical NB. Charter #1499. PMG Choice Uncirculated 63.

A small bank by the standards of New York City, and renowned among obsolete specialists for issuing a veritable tapestry of beautiful obsolete notes in the decades leading up to the American Civil War. In total, 59 notes are recorded for this charter which only issued large size from its initial charter in 1865 until giving it up in 1929. The present example demonstrates both strong originality and eye appeal, traits that should appeal to the broad swath of collectors specializing in New York Nationals.
