Description

Uncut Sheet of (4) Fr. 226. 1899 $1 Silver Certificates. PMG Choice Uncirculated 64. Low Serial Numbers.

A magnificent item that represents one of the earliest printings of the Lyon/Roberts signature combination and one of the most iconic notes ever put to print by the Bureau of Engraving & Printing. Representing the third sheet produced bearing serial numbers 9 through 12, this uncut sheet of "Black Eagles" does not display signs of handling comparable to previous examples that we have sold, specifically the Fr. 227 sheet that sold back in 2018 for $180,000.00 which featured serial numbers 1 through 4. Selvage remains intact save for a small circular cut along the top margin. The constituent notes, however, each display original paper and strong embossing that would one would rightly expect of the assigned grade. Without a doubt this item is a numismatic treasure worthy of only the finest and most comprehensive collections, a distinction that will warrant attention from the bidding audience comparable to even the most distinguished rarities.

Estimate: $20000.00- $30000.00
