1870 Two-Cent Piece. MS-64 RD (PCGS). CAC.
The first two-cent issue with a circulation strike delivery of fewer than 1 million coins, the 1870 is a scarce-to-rare offering in all Mint State grades. Most such pieces exhibit either BN or RB surfaces, with full Red examples seldom encountered. Among the finest verified by CAC, this premium Choice example possesses full luster on both sides. Otherwise medium-orange color displays intermingled olive highlights. Well struck overall, this lovely coin will please even the most discerning numismatist.
