1889 Liberty Seated Quarter. Proof-66 (PCGS).
Target-toned on the reverse in shades of steel-blue, sandy-tan and pewter-gray, the obverse exhibits mottled olive-russet overtones backlit by cobalt blue and salmon-pink on a base of antique silver tinting. Wonderfully original and expertly preserved otherwise, the discerning collector will find much to admire in this premium quality Gem. This late date Proof Liberty Seated quarter hails from a mintage of 711 pieces. While as many as 600 of these may survive, the vast majority are in grades of Proof-64 and lower.
