Description

Unfunded 2019 Cryptofreeze Bitcoin. Firstbits 1LJ1hABB. Serial No. 1491. Version 2. Series 2. Aluminum. MS-66 (PCGS).

Unfunded and non-loaded. A landmark offering that represents the first coin from the Cryptofreeze series to be featured in a live auction. This particular specimen is also the only example graded by PCGS. The Cryptofreeze series was launched circa 2014 and utilized aluminum Casascius tokens as a foundation. Much like the Serpcoin series, the coins were then assembled with a proprietary security hologram concealing a private key. The Cryptofreeze series is also remarkable in that it uses "scratch off" security holograms instead of the conventional peel-away style used by others. According to Elias Ahonen, "The Cryptofreeze name clearly alludes to the idea that the BTC loaded onto the coin will be in a secure "frozen" state out of the reach of hackers." The initial Series 1 Cryptofreeze coins were denominated as 0.01 BTC, though the present Series 2 was designed without a denomination so that they can be customized by collectors. Series 2 was produced with just three different color finishes including blue, purple, and orange. Each color has a maximum mintage of only 50 coins. Included alongside this coin is the original COA from Cryptofreeze listing the public address and featuring a serialized authenticity hologram. This COA has also been encapsulated by PCGS with the matching firstbits code on the label. Public Address: 1LJ1hABB5UizaCR1Pi5QYc7M2KsSAjZhkA.

PCGS# 931956.

PCGS Population: 1; none finer. The Only Example at PCGS.
