Fr. 227. 1899 $1 Silver Certificate. PMG Superb Gem Uncirculated 67 EPQ.
A striking example of an iconic and early "Black Eagle" featuring the signatures of Lyons and Treat. One cannot help but be awestruck by the assigned grade which was likely applied following fastidious deliberation amongst the graders at PMG. Great embossing has likewise been noted by PMG, a distinction that only serves to further distinguish this exceptional note. We cannot find any record of any Superb Gems representing this Friedberg that have been graded by PMG ever crossing the auction block. Indeed a superior note that will undoubtedly find itself amongst a first-rate convocation of "Black Eagles" in due time. PMG Pop 3/None Finer.
