Jefferson, Texas. Office of Lewis Moody. 1862 $1. PMG Extremely Fine 40. Remainder.
No. None. Similar in composition to the variety of scrip and Treasury Warrants that circulated throughout Texas during the American Civil War, the present item is by far one of the thinnest notes that I (the cataloguer) have seen to date. The paper is thin and translucent to the point where you can read a piece of paper placed beneath the note with the utmost ease. An actual miracle of survival that this note survived the successive 162 years in its journey to the May CCO.
