Popular 1917 $100 with White Background
CANADA. Canadian Bank of Commerce. 100 Dollars, 2.1.1917. CH# 75-16-02-12. PMG Extremely Fine 40.
White background. A much better grade than typically seen, with this surpassed in the PMG population report by just a single finer example. The notes of this design of the Canadian Bank of Commerce are often considered somewhat available (this 1917 series was the first of this design, which would be printed until the late 1930s), although there are some deceptively scarce varieties. Nice eye-appeal is seen on this example with no harsh folds. While the $100 denomination is nowhere as rare as the $50 (of which just two examples are known) it can hardly be considered common either.
