Two identical designs and size format Medals, struck in different alloys, by Gianluca & Roberta Guccione: 1) Silver. Weight: 23 gms; diameter: 38mm. 2) Bronze. Weight: 19 gms; diameter: 38mm. Sold in purple velvet display box. Obverse: Portrait bust of Francis II facing left, FRANCISCUS II REGNI UTRIUSQUE SICILIAE REX 1894-1994 around; Reverse: Names the Order, based in Naples, with the order's arms of the holy cross bearing the letters of the name of Christ and the Greek Christological letters alpha and omega, SACER MILITARIS ORDO CONTANTINIANUS SANCTI GEORGII NEAPOLI around. Francis II was the last king of the united Two Sicilies, and hereditary Grand Master of the Roman Catholic military Constantinian Order of Saint George until his death in 1894. This medal marks the centenary of his death. Placed under the protection of the papacy by Clement XI in 1718 in the bull "Militantis Ecclesiae", the main purpose of the Order was the propagation of the Roman Catholic faith and the glorification of the Holy Cross.
