Description
COLOMBIA. Banco del Ruiz. 1 Peso, 1.8.1919. P-S822. DP 8288. PMG Fine 12.
A very scarce and seldom seen type from the Banco del Ruiz printed by the American Banknote Company. 400,000 notes were delivered to the bank in July of 1919. Of these, records show that 88,768 were actually issued. Bearing interest (2% annually), this example shows two date cancellations where interest was paid out (1920 and 1922). Very rare in issued form, a search of our extensive auction archive shows no issued examples previously having been sold by us. PMG comments "Date Punch Holes."
