1787 Fugio Cent. Pointed Rays. Newman 7-T, W-6735. Rarity-4. STATES UNITED, 4 Cinquefoils. EF-40 (PCGS).
149.7 grains. A lovely deep autumn-brown and olive-copper example with good gloss to hard, smooth surfaces. A minor flan flaw (as made) at 8 o'clock relative to the obverse explains the minor lack of detail both in that area and at 10 o'clock on the reverse. Otherwise we note universally bold to sharp detail throughout the design. Ranked ninth for the Newman 7-T dies in the 2016 edition of Rob Retz's Fugio Copper Notes, with a grade of "XF45."
PCGS# 878078. NGC ID: 2B8E.
From the Sydney F. Martin Collection. Earlier ex Anthony Terranova; Donald Scarinci Collection, November 2010.
