1785 Connecticut Copper. Miller 1-E, W-2300. Rarity-4. Mailed Bust Right. EF-40 (PCGS).
144.1 grains. Lovely milk chocolate brown surfaces are microgranular up close, but have a pleasantly glossy appearance upon first glance. A few trivial marks and abrasions are noted, but this was struck on a good-quality flan with only a few short and shallow fissures along the lower left reverse rim. Softly struck right of the face and at the upper left of the reverse, not unusual for the variety. Dies somewhat failed with various bulges and ridges near the final C of CONNEC, but a well-centered impression on both sides.
PCGS# 685148.
From the Sydney F. Martin Collection. Earlier ex the Anthony Terranova Collection, January 2012.
