Very Rare Miller 37.6-B
1787 Connecticut Copper. Miller 37.6-B, W-4130. Rarity-7-. Draped Bust Left. AG-3 (PCGS).
108.4 grains. Dark steely brown with slightly granular motifs contrasting with rougher fields. A couple of small blunt marks are also noted on this well-worn example. A very rare variety, this example turned up on eBay in 2009 unattributed and became the eighth known according to Syd's notes. He bought it shortly thereafter to represent the variety in his set, and upgraded it in 2013 with the Taylor-Perkins-Collection SLT coin graded only VG-8. That specimen is the only one represented in our online archives while the Hall-Brand-Oechsner-Partrick example is the lone one found in the Heritage records. Opportunities to secure this die marriage are very few and far between!
PCGS# 918314.
From the Sydney F. Martin Collection. Earlier ex eBay, May 2009; Christopher B. Young, May 2009.
