1787 Connecticut Copper. Miller 41-ii, W-4235. Rarity-4. Draped Bust Left, AUCTOPI / ETIIB. VF Details—Edge Repaired (PCGS).
138.6 grains. Light golden brown surfaces are uniform in tone and fairly hard with only a few minor obverse nicks or flaws. Struck on an irregular flan that is a bit out of round, featuring a very flattened curvature to the upper left of the effigy's face. This area seems to have faint file marks, so it might be the result of a ragged imperfection having been smoothed out long ago. The tops of the PI in the legend are impacted, but engraving error is still clear. The same is true on the reverse where the critical parts of the ETIIB are visible, though the tops of the letters are lost. Nice eye appeal despite the irregularity.
PCGS# 687371.
