Obv: Similar to the adopted design for the contemporary three-cent nickel, with slight differences. The digit 1 in the date is centered between the border and the base of Liberty's portrait. Rev: A Roman numeral V in the center, with a wreath encircling, a scroll inscribed wit the motto IN GOD WE TRUST and a Maltese cross are above.
