SYRIA. Phoenicia. Tyre. Plated Didrachm Fourree, ca. Mid-4th Century B.C. NGC FINE. Core Visible, Test Cut.
cf. HGC-10, 349. Obverse: Bearded deity (Melqart?) riding winged hippocamus right, holding bow and arrow; dolphin below; Reverse: Owl standing right, flail and crook over shoulder. An ancient forgery with an exposed core, delving much roughness. An interesting piece.
