JAMAICA. Treasury of Jamaica. 10 Shillings, 1918. P-30. PMG Very Fine 25.
W.M. Fraser signature. Fraser served as the island treasurer from 1926 to 1935 and we can assume that this note was issued during that time. While not listed in the Pick catalog, there are signature varieties of this note. The first (signature of C.C. Anderson with blue back) is extremely rare, making this variety perfect for an advanced type collection. This is seen with the back printed in green. This variety is not common either, with less than two dozen examples believed to be in existence (including at least a handful or more in institutional collections), with this example one of just two examples graded by PMG at this grade level with just one finer. It is entirely problem-free, and certainly one of the nicest examples of this type printed by Thomas de la Rue to come to the market in recent history. An outstanding opportunity for the advanced Commonwealth specialist not to be missed.
