Unique Pair of Artist's Renditions for the Nascent Malaysian State

A fantastic pair of front and back artist's renditions. The front for a 1000 Ringgit and the back for a 10,000 Ringgit. Completely executed by hand, based on the inclusion of Singapore on the map these predate the independence of Singapore and as such also the issuance of the first notes for Malaysia. Our best guess is that these were made around the time of Malaysia's birth as a nation in 1963, although PMG dates them to the 1950s. As all artist's renditions such as this are unique we have no problem calling both as such, and while the denominations of the pair do not match we do believe that they were made at the same time. As these were true artist's creations it is very well possible that these were for the same note but that the designer had not yet decided to on the denomination, and was using their artistic freedom. A fantastic pair of items surely of immense interest for the Malaysian specialist and surely a highlight in whatever collection it enters.

存世無雙建國初期馬來西亞手繪圖稿一對
1950年代年馬來西亞國家銀行1000 & 10,000令吉。正反面手繪圖稿。
此為兩張馬來西亞令吉手繪圖稿，分別為1000令吉正面，及10,000令吉反面。圖稿完全由手工繪製，根據地圖上包含新加坡來推斷，其創作時間早於新加坡獨立，亦早於馬來西亞第一套鈔票的發行。儘管PMG將其年份定為上世紀五十年代，我司推測其創作時間約為1963年馬來西亞建國前後。此兩幅手繪圖稿，皆為藝術家之匠心獨運之作，雖面額不同，然觀其風格，應出自同一時期。此兩張的創作或為同一鈔票之設計，然設計師當時未定其面額，故而揮灑創意，不受拘束。此對圖稿，構思精妙，繪製精美，對於馬來西亞錢幣收藏家而言，實屬難得一見之珍品，若得其一，必為藏品之中的點睛之筆。
