Stunningly Exceptional Dollar with Dragon's Eyes as "Spectacles"
(t) CHINA. Chihli (Pei Yang). 7 Mace 2 Candareens (Dollar), Year 23 (1897). Tientsin (East Arsenal) Mint. Kuang-hsu (Guangxu). NGC MS-62.
L&M-444; cf. K-186; KM-Y-65.1; WS-0609. Variety with dragon's eyes as "spectacles". One of the more elite representatives of the type in the NGC census, this crisply struck example offers an alluring gunmetal gray tone with some elegant brilliance radiating from beneath. Furthering its appeal that much more are some golden hints peppering the surfaces. No doubt, an immense opportunity for an incredible, wholly resounding, and VERY RARE specimen from the early years at Chihli.
