Boston, Massachusetts. $5 1882 Brown Back. Fr. 466. Lincoln NB. Charter #2846. PCGS Banknote Very Good 10.
A very rare charter from Boston. The National Bank Note Census records a total of only seven notes as of this writing. The bank would eventually see its assets liquidated in 1898 after 16 years in business and would be succeeded by the National Shawmut Bank of Boston (Charter# 2846). A rare note for the Massachusetts specialist or the proud New Englander who upholds Boston as the region's Mecca. PCGS Banknote comments "Minor Rust, Minor Foreign Substance."
