Description

TAXILA: Anonymous, 2nd/1st century BC, AE round (1.14g), three-arched hill // railed tree flanked by two adorants, on top hill, taurine, swastika and Indradhvaja, unpublished type in almost perfect condition, bold EF, RRR. Possibly, we see just two adorants doing homage to the centrally placed sacred tree, perhaps identifiable as specific cult figures, such as the six-headed goddess Shashti and her consort Karttikeya.
Estimate: USD 240 - 325
