Description

QING: Guang Xu, 1875-1908, AE cash, Nanjing mint, Jiangsu Province, H-22.1358, Hsu-261, machine struck in 1898 from dies made by the Heaton Mint, Birmingham, a lovely lustrous example! Unc, RR, ex Shawn Hamilton Collection (from the collection of a former mint employee). In January 1898, the West Factory of the Jiangnan Silver Dollar and Regulation Coins General Mint in Nanking started striking coins with a weight of 7 fen. This lasted for only a few months.
