IRAN: Nasir al-Din Shah, 1848-1896, AR 10 qiran (kran) (50.48g), [Tehran], AH1313, KM-919, 52mm, 50th Anniversary of the Accession of the Shah, barely visible traces of a mount at the edge, EF, RR. Nasir al-Din Shah was assassinated a few weeks before the 50th anniversary celebration was to have taken place. In our opinion, this is a later restrike from the 1920s or 1930s from the original dies, which show light die deterioration, especially towards the rims, but edge appearance typical of the Tehran mint at that period.
