GERMANY: Third Reich, 1 reichspfennig, 1936-D, KM-Pn375 var, N-281243, Schaaf-361var, pattern struck in nickel-plated iron, Unc, RR. In 1936, Germany changed the designs on standard circulation coinage from the old Weimar types to new National Socialist designs featuring an eagle atop a wreathed swastika. Apparently a small number of patterns testing various metals were produced in that year. One source lists this as a pattern produced during the Allied Occupation of 1945-48.
