Description

ABBASID: al-Muttaqi, 940-944, AR dirham (3.66g), Arminiya, AH332, A-257N, Vardanyan-141 (same dies), struck during the conflict between the Daylamites (Daysam b. Ibrahim) and several branches of the rising Sallarids, VF, RRRR. The only other known specimen is in the Hermitage Museum. The actual local authority at Arminiya, possibly located at the capital Dvin, has not been determined, though the vizier Abu 'Abd Allah Muhammad b. Ahmad Nu'aymi is a possibility.
