Description
GOLDEN HORDE: Birdi Beg, 1357-1360, AR 2 dirhams (1.05g), Alagiz (Elegis), AH758, A-2031A, type struck AH758-759 at the end of the first Juchid invasion of the collapsing Ilkhan empire, known only from the mint of Ardabil, Alagiz, and Maragha, all of the highest rarity, VF, RRR. Alagiz has been tentatively identified as having existed in Vayots Dzor province of Armenia, some 60-70 miles southeast of Yerevan.
