FATIMID: al-Mustansir, 1036-1094, glass weight/jital (8.53g), A-724, FGJ-298, legend al-imam ma'add abu tamim al-mustansir billah around, amir / al-mu'minin in the center; amazing colors, part brown, part gray, and part dark brown; virtually opaque; a spectacular example, the finest we have ever seen! EF, RRRR. The weight is for two gold dinars. Balog noted only one example this heavy out of 80 examples of type FGJ-298, and there was another one, also 8.53g, sold in our Auction 43, lot 383, which was the ordinary translucent green/brown.
