ABBASID: al-Mutawakkil, 847-861, AR donative dirham (3.00g), Madinat al-Salam, AH243, A-230B, struck on a thin flan with a broad outer margin, with the central religious text on the obverse and the margin on the reverse gilt, choice VF, RR. The rims have been slightly hammered, probably because this piece was once mounted in either jewelry or decorative wear.
