UNITED STATES: California, gilt 50 cents (0.29g), 1885, octagonal half-dollar sized "Arms of California" type 1; EUREKA above Minerva and grizzly bear // CAL. GOLD CHARM around date, all within wreath, UNC. According to Mike Locke's website, "A correspondent reports that one of these was mailed home to Sweden circa 1890, along with...an 1888 US gold dollar; all as souvenirs from California."
