Description

ANCIENT GREECE. KINGDOM OF PARTHIA. Mithradates II.
Silver Drachm, circa 96-92 BC. Ekbatana(?).
Obv: diademed and draped bust left, wearing tiara decorated with six-rayed star, with ear flap, long beard, and torque ending in seahorse. Rev: ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΝ ΜΕΓΑΛΟΥ ΑΡΣΑΚΟΥ ΕΠΙΦΑΝΟΥΣ, archer (Arsakes I) seated right on throne, holding bow.

About Extremely Fine; attractive old cabinet tone with blue and golden iridescence.
